Q. What happens if we are injured or have to pull out for some reason after securing our place?
A. We will enter you as a fully paid up member for the 2013 Norfolk Superhero Event.
Q. Can we register on Saturday morning?
A. No, you must attend the compulsory safety brief and registration on Friday night at 6:00pm.
Q. Will we receive a map of the route?
A. Yes, you will receive both cycle and run route maps at registration. The route can also be found here.
Q. What services and equipment will be provided for the participants?
A. We will provide loos, bike racks, kayaks, buoyancy aids and paddles, swim hats, technical T-shirts,Friday night bike check, Audi vehicle support on the cycle route, boat transfer, electronic race timing system, medical assistance, libertie fitness beach warm-up, full friendly marshalling and clear signage, BQA day race license Friday night food and Saturday night food, refreshments, bananas and entertainment on Saturday night.
Q. Do we have to have support teams?
A. No. This event is unsupported. We do, however, recommend you bring family/friends along to take part in the atmosphere and evening entertainment.
Q. What happens if we drop out on route?
A. If a participant becomes injured or for any reason wishes to drop out of the event, we will ensure you are picked up and transported back to Superhero HQ as soon as possible. We do recommend you train well for the event in order to avoid this!
Q. What will be provided by the organisers at the main checkpoints and at the finish?
A. En route water and bananas. Free massage, Saturday night celebration party and prize giving: Dinner from 7pm. Free to participants. Additional tickets will be available for family and friends via the website nearer the time.
Q. How much does it cost for my family/friends to attend the event?
A. £20 per adult, £5 per child for the saturday evening dinner, prize giving party and dance.
Q. What wetsuit is needed for the swim phase, can I hire a wetsuit?
A. A triathlon wetsuit is recommended. The North Sea is cold. We do not provide wetsuits; you need to bring your own.
Q. Are there cut-offs?
A. Yes, these will be announced at the Friday night compulsory safety briefing. For health and safety reasons all cut offs must be strictly adhered to by participants.
Q. Do you recommend I carry water and snacks?
A. Yes, on the bike ride.
Q. Do we have to stay together as a team?
A. Yes you have to stay together as a team. Failure to do so may result in disqualification. Your time for each leg will be the time the slowest member completes it in.
Q. Will I be disqualified if we miss a checkpoint?
A. Yes.
Q. In the event of an accident should I stop and help?
A. Yes. Helping other competitors is one of the core intrinsic values of a Superhero and in the true spirit of the contest. Over the last 3 years of the Superhero everyone has got around the course safely. Safety is always our main priority.
Q. Is the safety brief compulsory?
A. Yes. The safety brief will be held at the field in Burnham Overy Staithe on Friday 22th June at 6:00 pm.

Q. Do I need to bring a swim cap?
A. No – this will be provided at registration and it will be compulsory wear your cap during the swimming phase of the event.
